THE FRAMING May 26, 2010 Edition
We continue to build at 1206 E. Beech. Join with us as we work with the Nicole Hidalgo family as partners. NOTE: We will not be working on Saturday, May 29th due to Memorial Day Weekend. We will continue on Saturday, June 5th , beginning at 7:30 AM.
From the Board Meeting Minutes of May 10: President Bob Williams received a business plan for a Habitat Re-Store. Board members Thom Gray, Jim Bloodhart, and Justin Ellis will study the plan in order to continue discussion regarding whether we could develop a Re-Store for our affiliate.
The Annual Picnic was discussed, leaving the planning in the hands of Rita Kane Doerhoefer and Patty McClelland.
Planning continued for the arrival of the Bike & Build Cycling Group, who will be with us on August 2, 2010. We anticipate having this group of around 32 young folks build two sheds.
COMMITTEE NOTES
Building – Thom Gray reported good progress; the roof decking is almost finished, and the volunteer crews have been super!
Family Support – The Nicole Hidalgo family have been faithful in keeping their sweat equity commitment to the house.
Community Relations – Rita Doerhoefer spoke to the continuing plans for the Bike & Build Group coming on August 2 to help with our building. Thom Gray hopes their group of 32+ folks can build us two Sheds that are part of our build plans for each house we build.
Rita also continues to work with the Promotion Team regarding effective promotion of a large donation to our affiliate in order to encourage more donations to our efforts.
Facebook Report – Justin Ellis shared our Facebook involvement, helping some who learned how to both access and use this valuable communication tool. For those looking, enter Facebook Roswell Habitat for Humanity on your computer’s search engine.
